Cooling Capacity (W) Reference:
FH5532F / TFH5532F: -10°C → 3303 W, +7.2°C → 7619 W
FH5538F / TFH5538F: -10°C → 4146 W, +7.2°C → 9353 W
FH5542F / TFH5542F: -10°C → 4343 W, +7.2°C → 9951 W
Features & Advantages:
This group features large-displacement models within the FH series, with displacements ranging from 53.1 to 74.15 cc, delivering cooling capacities from 2½ HP to 3 HP. The oil charge has been increased to 1625 cc, ensuring superior lubrication and heat dissipation under high-displacement, heavy-load operating conditions. These models provide higher cooling output, making them especially suitable for medium-to-large commercial refrigeration equipment, air conditioning systems, and beverage cooling systems. The FH5542F, as the largest-displacement model in this group (74.15 cc), delivers up to 9951 W at the +7.2°C condition, making it the ideal choice for applications demanding maximum cooling capacity.

Q1: FH5542F single-phase 220 V has difficulty starting and occasionally trips on thermal overload
-
Cause: The 5 HP single-phase unit draws extremely high starting current. A supply voltage drop exceeding 10% or undersized incoming wiring (<4 mm²) causes the start winding to overheat.
-
Answer: Measure the terminal voltage at the moment of startup. Upgrade the power cable to a larger gauge, use a dedicated circuit, and confirm the run capacitor µF matches the original factory specification — a value too high or too low will both damage the motor.
Q2: Oil level misjudgment on large-horsepower 5538/5542 models leads to overfilling → oil slugging
-
Cause: With a 1625 cc large oil sump, the sight glass on the 55-series casing is positioned relatively high. Adding oil based on experience from smaller units causes the crankshaft to churn excess oil, splashing it into the cylinder.
-
Answer: Maintain the oil level between ⅓ and ⅔ of the sight glass. Check after the unit has been shut down for 30 minutes — never top up oil while the compressor is running.
Q3: Running 16 h/day long-term, 5532↑ units have scorching-hot casings but normal pressures
-
Cause: The built-in crankcase heater is constantly energized, combined with insufficient suction gas cooling (air-conditioning high-temperature units have low suction gas density).
-
Answer: Check whether the suction superheat exceeds 3 °C. Install an external fan shroud to improve airflow direction. Confirm this is not a false symptom caused by a dirty condenser.
